Let's Be Honest...
I was wondering what to write today, and then I remembered that I haven't done one of these in a little while.
So, let's be honest...
I spent waaay too long reading the comments from this post yesterday. Hilarious. Sad. Cruel. Weird.
Heck, I spend waaaay too long reading blogs period.
I have subjected my husband to so much ANTM, Project Runway, and Giuliana and Bill that he has threatened ending his life if he had to watch any more of it. Sorry hubs.
When taking Brody for a stroll around the neighborhood, I felt my belly jiggling with every step I took. Is it bad to start a diet right before the holiday season? Yeah, you're right. Screw it!
I haven't had my hair cut in over a year. My split ends are horrendous! That'd going on my 2013 Bucket List. Isn't that sad?
I am kind of ashamed to have people over to our house. I never feel like it's clean enough, organized enough, or classy enough. Our walls are different colors, we don't have fancy furniture, and my husband's idea of decorating is surfboards and a humungous picture of us with a dolphin from our honeymoon above the sofa. We're working on it though.
Check back tomorrow for a couple of amazing and awful things that have happened with Brody lately.
Later Homies,
Jessica

Let's Be Honest....
Let's make this quick shall we? I have got a napping babe and a bathroom to clean!
-our friends are coming to stay the night tonight while en route to the beach. A) This excites the crap out of me. B) I love when people visit because it motivates me to clean the whole house. C) I may just stow away in their suitcase so I can go back to the beach. D) This excites the crap out of me!
-I have been doing WW for almost a full week now. Sometimes I am HUNGRY, but I can definitely tell that it's going to work. It really makes me think about what I am eating and how much I am eating. Both of those things were out of control before.
-I REALLY want to start working out. I was a crazy madwoman before pregnancy spending 3 hours at the gym sometimes! I know I can't do that now with bobaloo and that's okay. BUT I am super nervous about dropping him off at the daycare area. NOT because I don't trust the people that work there but because the last couple times Brody has been dropped off at the nursery at church he has screamed bloody murder and even one time, our 'number' popped up on the screen to come and get him. (<<major run on sentence and i don't care!) YIKES!! Now that I am staying home, he has definitely grown attached to his mama. I may just go to the Y a couple times and play with him in the daycare area so he gets used to the place.......
-I wish I could throw the entire car seat in the washing machine. Especially after Brody eats a banana. Ew.
-I HATE when I miss a spot shaving. Like, I HATE IT. I also can never wear shorts to bed because I hate when my stubbly legs touch each other.....
-I am stressing over getting everything ready for Brody's party. That and I am really sad that none of his cousins (all 4 of them) won't be able to come. SAD SAD SAD
-My friends are coming to stay that night tonight.......wait....did I already say that?? :) !!!!!!
See you later ding dong heads!

Let's Be Honest Friday...Saturday...whatever
Let's be honest....
Rold Gold pretzels >* Snyders of Hanover. Hands down....
I have forgotten to buy stamps at Wal-Mart/Harris Teeter for the past 2 months. The bills are calling their name, "Stamps! Mail Me!" So, once again as I was walking back to my car from Wally World I realized that I had forgotten to buy stamps. I figured I would unload my huge cart and go back in. In the mean time, a car pulls up waiting to take my spot because it was a semi good one. DILEMMA!!! Do I tell them to move on, sista ain't done here?! Do I forget the stamps and just go home? "Mail me! Mail me!" Crap! What does this Queen of Hearts do? I get in my car, back out of my space, go down the aisle, and park again, go inside and buy my stamps. I thought I would pay it forward... (-disregard the first sentence-)
Today is awesome. I get a little chill time by myself. The floor guys are putting in new flooring in our kitchen/dining area. LONG OVERDUE! AND I got a Keurig today! HOLLAAAA! It was a late Mother's Day present from my sweet husband who knows my love for Chai Tea Lattes. Oh Yeah.
The Medela Pump and Save bags SUCK! Sorry to use such foul language, but I couldn't put it any nicer! Remember in my Products We Love post for 3-8 months and I mentioned that I was disappointed with Lansinoh milk bags? The Medela ones are worse IMO! They only store 5 ounces so if I pump a little more than that, I have to use another bag, the top has torn when I have tried to open it, AND THE WORSE PART--it is hard to close the seal when you are finished. It just plays tricks on me! I think that I have pushed hard enough and gotten it to lock together, only to have it come spilling out when I lay it down to date it! Seriously, you think it's sealed and it's not! This has happened a few times. My girls aren't making what they used to and it is heartbreaking when any milk is lost. The bags cost more too...grrrrrrrrr!
Kindles are the best. It has definitely made me more of a nerd but I don't care! Since purchasing it three weeks ago, I have read 2 1/2 books on it (with finishing a real book in between). Can't get enough! I like to read it while I pump so that it just takes a quick push to turn the page.
HAPPY WEEKEND!
*In case you missed this lesson in second grade, whichever side has the alligator mouth is open to, that is the larger/greater number/thing....because the gator eats whatever is bigger....To get to the point-I LOVE ROLD GOLD! :)

Let's Be Honest Friday
Sorry I missed last week. It's just one of those things....
Let's be honest...
I hate it when I think of a ton of different things to write for this post and then forget them once I get to my computer.
Having a broken A/C unit sucks. The guy not being able to fix it until 3 days later sucks even more.
This is my last full month of school until summer vacation.
DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID?!!
THIS IS MY LAST FULL MONTH OF SCHOOL UNTIL SUMMER VACATION!
I am (not so) secretly hoping that it's not really a 'vacation' but the start of living out my lifelong dream...
Last weekend, Brian and I got in a big ol' fight about the above comment... :(
I hate my body and am terrified about bathing suit season. Especially since 'round these parts, I am in my bathing suit every weekend.
Brody can turn my day around with just one crazy little smile.
Last night, I was thawing turkey meat to make tacos and Brian suggested we just go to Taco Bell instead. I love my husband.
I have not changed my earrings/rings/necklace in over 6 months.
It's hot in this house. Have I mentioned that?
I swear I will post Brody's 6, 7, 8/9 month updates soon! (8 and 9 because I was slack and didn't write a post so they will be combined.) sixmoredaysuntilheisninemonthsold! icantbelieveit!
Catch ya later!

Let's Be Honest HFriday (a day late)
Let's Be Honest...
It feels so defeating when you spend 2 hours making new baby food for your kid and they HATE it. Like, turn up their nose, shake their head violently back and forth, spit it all over the place hate it.
Thursday, for dinner, I had 2 hot dogs with chili and mustard, nachos and cheese and a Cheerwine slushie and I was still hungry. I was at my nephew's baseball game...........
On the topic of healthy eating, last night before going on a walk with the hubs and babes, I spotted a Snickers bar and wanted it so badly. Brian said, "Well eat it then." I said, "But we haven't had dinner yet." He said, "Jessica. You're an adult. You can have a Snickers bar before dinner." I love my husband.
On occasion, I miss the freedom my childless friends have. Going out to dinner or the movies, shopping with ease, going to bed knowing that there won't be anyone that might wake you up in the middle of the night.... *sigh* But....I wouldn't change it for anything.
Sometimes I feel so lazy because all I want to do is write blogs and read blogs and there is a pile of dishes in the sink.
I don't have much this week. It is Saturday after all and I have got lots to do! Like read blogs and work on Brody's updates! :)

Let's Be Honest HFriday
Let's Be Honest...
It really burns my biscuit when I tell someone that my dream is to stay at home with my little boy and they respond, "Well, it's my dream to not work either but you do what you gotta do." I didn't say I wasn't going to work, I said I wanted to stay at home!!!!!!!!!! BIG DIFFERENCE! RAWR!!!
My stomach clenches into a tight little nauseating ball when I hear my son cough through the monitor at 3 AM. Please don't wake up. Please don't wake up.
I walked on the treadmill this week and did sit ups and push ups. My stomach was so sore the next day I questioned if it was actually worth it...
Then, I saw a stupid Pinterest post about exercising, "One month from now, you are going to wish you started today." CRAP!
This was my Spring Break week and I was able to hang out with Brody 24/7. It was the first time in a very long time where I actually felt like a good mother.
I almost never like the movie more than the book it's based after (Twilight, The Hunger Games, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
We are getting new flooring in our kitchen and dining room and I could do backflips I am so excited about it.
Brody's mobility is starting to scare the heck out of me and I am wondering how can I baby proof this whole house! I wish I had an empty room so that he could crawl around and keep my mind at ease if I have to walk away for a minute.
I miss my blond hair like whoa...I don't miss the money spent or the roots 3 weeks later...
I finally realized I could look at the 'stats' of my blog. I noticed some readers from Russia! WHAT UP MY PEEPS?! :) Zdravstvujtye!

Let's Be Honest HFriday
Round two...
Let's Be Honest...
I just might still wear maternity pants on a regular basis. I can fit back in to my old jeans, but you have no idea how comfortable maternity pants are until you try them! And these pants aren't jeans, they are more like thin, black cotton sweats that make me feel like I am going to work in my pajamas. A good day is had when I wear these pants to work. :)
Brody has more clothes than I do. And they will only last him 6 months. It is so hard not to buy him cute things at the store! I always justify it by thinking, "Well, I'm not buying it for myself so it's okay." Like, it wouldn't effect my bank account since I was buying for someone else.... Seriously though...his closet is PACKED wall to wall with 3-6/6-12 month clothes AND I just finished laundering his clothes from the past two weeks and haven't put them away yet.
I am terrified to fail. My whole life I have tried to do my best at everything and please everyone along the way. While that's not such a bad thing, it constantly makes me feel like I could have done more or it wasn't good enough. I did hair for a while. I really liked the concept of it and it came pretty easily but I was scared. to. death. going to work everyday. I would ask my customers no less than 5 times if they liked their hair, could I do anything differently, were they sure, don't be afraid to tell me if I need to change anything, is it straight enough, have enough volume, the right length, the right color.....I mean, for real, y'all. It was like that....I developed IBS because of the stress I felt to perform perfectly. I would start every morning in the 'powder room' with my stomach in knots. I would cry on my way to work almost everyday. And this was only 1.5 years of my life. I am like this in all areas and have been since elementary school, scared to tell my parents about my first bad grade on my report card... :sidenote: This is also another reason why I am scared to take a teaching position because I will devote all of my free time to trying to be the absolute best teacher ever--searching blogs and other resources, downloading games, going to the dollar store every week to get some stupid craft supplies, buy my kids pencils and erasers, etc. I am so scared I will lose my identity as a mother and wife because I can't give 100% of myself in one area and not expect the others to be lacking...
Box macaroni and cheese is just not good when you mix real macaroni noodles and the Kraft cheese mix. Don't try it. Just stick with the box in its entirety. Kraft knows what it's doing.
Last Sunday, I did six loads of laundry. SIX!!! And guess what? Almost a week later, the folded clothes are still sitting in the laundry basket. At least they're folded!
Today has the potential to be the best day ever. It's Good Friday, it's the first day of my Spring Break, and Brian said he is getting off very early today (3 hours early!) woohoo!
See Let's Be Honest HFriday's debut here.

Let's Be Honest HFriday
The 'H' is silent. :)
Okay, I was inspired by The Lunchbox Diaries posts called Truthful Thursdays where she keeps it real. This probably won't happen every Friday, but I haven't written in a while and this would be an easy post to write!! :)
Let's Be Honest...
I am a procrastinator. I wait until the last minute for EVERYTHING. --to wake up, to get ready, to pack my bags for a weekend getaway, to go to the grocery store, to buy birthday presents, to do school projects/write papers. I am late every day. It sucks. And it's not really an edifying characteristic about myself but it has been this way since the beginning of time! haha BUT! To my credit, I work better under pressure. Those college papers seemed to flow better when I wrote them the night before they were due. If I tried to piecemeal it over a week, I would read the finished copy and think it to be so choppy. Hey, I made the Dean's List in college so that's saying something, right? RIGHT?!
I wish I could Citizen's Arrest everyone I see commit traffic violations. It is one of my biggest pet peeves! Of course, speeding is omitted. But I hate when people don't use turn signals, get in their turn lane, or switch lanes while driving through a light. I am so weird like that. Guess what? I even turn on my signal to turn into my driveway. And I live in a neighborhood.
I have come to the realization that I am an introvert. But I think people have the wrong idea about what introvert/extrovert means. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE to be around people, can carry on a conversation and even be entertaining at times! BUT situations like that actually drain me. I get 're-energized' so to speak when I have my alone time. I need to be alone for a while to cope and process the day of screaming children. I am a home body...I love our nights in when it's just our little family. That gives me more fulfillment than going to a party ever could.
I am a terrible snacker. I am usually ravenous when I get home from work and instead of choosing a healthy option like an apple or grapefruit, I go straight for a bag of chips and some peanut M&M's. I'm not talking about a few of each to tie me over. I eat until I am stuffed. So so so bad. I know that can't continue when Brody weans, but gosh it sure is nice indulging for the time being.
It is very hard for me not to like you. Even if someone has talked trash and said how this person totally did them wrong, I still like to form my own opinions and will usually be cordial to that person.
I have a problem with jealousy. I think that is my number one sin. Especially toward all those stay-at-home moms. No malice toward them AT ALL, just complete envy. I am green with it. I think about it all the time, wondering how they were able to be so blessed and me...not so much.
Well, I think I have spilled my guts enough for one post. My future posts will probably be more current like, 'I just washed 7 loads of laundry.' You know, because I waited until the last minute to realize I have no clean work pants.
Toodleloo! Baby posts coming soon! Brody's 6 and 7 month updates!
